Thank you for asking for more information about BEGINNING A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST!

We are excited that you are interested in beginning a relationship with Jesus Christ!

God’s plan from the beginning was to be in relationship with us for eternity. The Bible is a collection of books written by God through men over thousands of years to tell the story of God pursuing humanity to establish a relationship that is based on love and trust.

That relationship with us was broken and lost early on because of our lack of trust in God and disobedience towards Him. The Bible calls this disobedience sin. But Jesus said that the reason for his coming to this world was “to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 10:10, NIV).

This work of salvation is the process of restoring our relationship with God through Jesus Christ and the removal of the sin that separates us.

All you need to know to be saved…

Is found in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (NIV).

You need to know that God LOVED.

Even though our relationship with God is broken and the evidence is all around us in the tragedies of this world, He still loves the world. How do we know God loves us?

We know He loved because God GAVE.

He gave His Son, Jesus, as the sacrifice for our sin so that we would not have to be separated from God forever, but we could have eternal life with Him in heaven. Love is proved by action and God had nothing greater to give than Himself. He paid for our sin so that we could be forgiven and to restore the love and trust that was lost.

What You Need to Do to Be Saved

Jesus said you need to BELIEVE IN Him.

This is more than believing about Him. It means that you trust that what He did, when He died and rose from the dead, He did for you. It’s more than acknowledging a gift. It’s receiving and treasuring the gift of eternal life with Him. Another passage puts it this way, “For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God” (Romans 10:10, NLT).

When we believe, we RECEIVE eternal life.

When we acknowledge our need, the lost relationship with God is restored and the sin that separated us from Him is removed.

A relationship with God is not complicated, but it does require sincere, heartfelt trust that God’s love and gift to you is real and sufficient.

How Can I Enter This Relationship with Jesus?

God knows the cry of your heart, if you believe. But it can be a great help to you to offer Him a prayer that tells Him what you really believe. It could be as simple as this prayer:

Dear Jesus, I know need You. I believe in You as the One who died for my sins and gives me eternal life. I receive Your gift of forgiveness and ask you to teach me to follow You from my heart.

If you truly prayed this and believed this for the first time, welcome to God’s family! The Bible says, “to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12, NIV). As a newborn child of God, we encourage you to let us or some other Christ-follower know about your decision. We would love to celebrate and help you grow in your new relationship with God.
